Wow. What a night!
I’m so thankful for all the support I’ve gotten in the last few months, but I never expected it to culminate in such a beautiful way. People came out and showed their support at Hugh’s Room, brought flowers, wanted autographs and sent me messages of congratulations when they couldn’t make it. I’m just so thankful that I can do this for a living and that people have been so receptive! Everyone took what I had to give last night and they gave back in return. There will be video coming in the next few days of that incredible experience, so keep your eyes peeled.
On a related note, the album is now available! You can get it from a bunch of different places.
Or me at any time. I also have these gorgeous limited edition soft cover journals that were made specially for this release by Almanac Press. They come with a download code as well. You can get them from me, or from Bandcamp.
With just less than two weeks before my CD release party at Hugh’s Room, I’m starting to get some love from radio stations in the country. I woke up this morning to a tweet from CBC Information Radio in Winnipeg that they were starting their morning program with one of my songs. How exciting! It’s long been a dream of mine to have my music played on CBC and I can’t believe that dream has finally come true. I also have it on good authority that CBC Here and Now will be adding “Come On In” to their playlist for next week, so keep those dials on Radio 1. DJ Goldfinger, the host of What Is Hip on CIUT, is also going to play the new album, as is The Night Shift on CHRY. Slowly but surely, you’ll be able to hear me on the radio.
The band and I have been working hard to make this CD release party the best it can be. We’ve got special guests coming in to make the sound fuller and we’re throwing a few covers into the mix. There’s one I’m particularly gunning to play, but I’m going to keep it a surprise. If you want to know, come out! Tickets are going fast, so get them while you still can.
